Wooden windows in subtropical India?
Klaes customers around the world - Part 2
In 2010, Anuj Divanji started window production with his company Ritikaawood in Mumbai. For this purpose, a Weinig UC 6 and the Klaes program for organising the technical and commercial areas were purchased. This was a very good basis, as Ritikaawood specialises in the production of exclusive and very high-quality elements. Element heights of 4 metres and more are not uncommon at Ritikaawood.
The material used is the treated Accoya wood, as it guarantees a very high durability of the elements despite the high humidity and the sometimes torrential monsoon rains in India.
The family business places very high value on sustainable production. The Accoya wood used is FSC certified and thus comes from controlled cultivation. Sustainable products naturally cost more compared to standard products. Aakash Divanji, the son of the company founder, therefore sees the greatest challenge in advising customers. The goal is to avoid environmental damage by producing and buying sustainable products - even if they cost a premium. His credo: "We love wood - but we love our forests even more!
By the way, in addition to the range of windows and doors, Ritikaawood also offers outdoor decking and wall cladding, as well as privacy screens made of Accoya.
