Great island - great products!
Klaes customers in the world - Part 3
Vancouver Island - one of the most beautiful places in the world and home to Fenstür Windows and Doors!
Based on Vancouver Island, Fenstür Windows and Doors is a family-owned business with over 150 years of experience, dedicated to supporting the local economy and sustainable development. The company combines traditional woodworking techniques with modern technologies such as a Weinig Conturex machine and Klaes software.
Braden Gierc, the CEO of Fenstür, told us a lot of interesting things about his company during a joint interview.
1. Can you give us a brief overview of your company?
“Fenstür is a family-run business based on Vancouver Island, dedicated to supporting the local economy and sustainable development. Our doors and windows incorporate over 150 years of forestry and engineering experience. We combine the best of traditional woodworking techniques with modern technologies from around the world. Our skilled team of craftsmen includes civil engineers, foresters, carpenters and painters who tirelessly search for the best products, the latest technologies and modern trends to produce reliable, customizable and high-performance windows and doors. Every door and window is made to order and we enjoy challenging conventional standards to deliver bigger, better and more customized products to every customer and every project. We have manufactured many products claiming to be "biggest" "first" and "only" in all of North America. We are currently the first and only manufacturer in North America with Passive House certified wood doors and windows.”
2. What are the special features of your windows and window production in your country?
“Our windows and doors are designed to be easy to use and very energy efficient. Our products are highly customizable and are built according to the individual requirements of each project. We are the only company that makes Passive House windows and doors out of wood, and the only company that offers all of our windows and doors with aluminium cladding. We build the most energy efficient wood windows and doors in North America and some of the thickest in the world (106mm thick).”
3. What are the biggest challenges for you in the window business?
“As in any industry during the pandemic, supply of materials and manpower are of course challenges. Fortunately, we have been working with Klaes before COVID and the system takes a lot of work off our hands by automatically creating all the machine files, cutting lists and material lists for us.”
4. What is most important for you in working with Klaes?
“The ability to design, quote, sell and manufacture our windows and doors in one software package that works really well. It takes the thinking out of design and materials and eliminates human error. The support and service Klaes provides is outstanding.”
