An interview with Ms. Despina Germanidou (IT Product Certification)
What are the characteristics of windows and window production in your country?
The trend of windows has shifted in the last 10 years. Today, the thermal insulation of the window probably plays the most important role in the selection. PVC windows, due to their material, offer high thermal insulation, fast production process and good value for money. Nevertheless, the Greek market, especially in the southern part and islands, has a special preference for aluminum windows, which is obvious due to the large number of aluminum manufacturers.
Thermoplastiki aims to produce quality products under the highest production standards, and has chosen PVC and aluminum systems of excellent quality, offering both thermal insulation and safety.
What challenges do you face in the window industry?
One of the biggest challenges is the quality of the final installed product, because installers often have too little knowledge and experience. Regardless of the quality of the window, the installer must be very careful and precise during installation, as this greatly affects the functionality of the window.
Technological changes are also enormous. We need to integrate them into our business and change the way we work, market and interact with customers. Currently, a big challenge is to invest time and money in high-performance IT - technical service.
Last but not least, we have seen a lot of price increases in the past year in all areas of the supply chain, be it steel, profiles, glass, energy and gas costs and everything else in between. These increases are reflected in profile delivery times and impact production time, while creating a difficult and uncertain environment for the overall window business.
What is most important to you in working with Klaes?
Klaes is integrated into our PVC and aluminum production process to help us keep the entire production line running smoothly. It is a modern and accurate system that allows easy calculation of costs and materials. All the information is available for production immediately after it is entered.
Thank you very much for the interview!
